What is Breakout EDU?
Breakout EDU is the educational equivalent of an Escape Room. Not familiar with escape rooms? No problem. Room escape games are a type of physical adventure game in which people are locked in a room with other participants and have to use elements of the room to solve a series of puzzles, find clues, and escape the room within a set time limit. AN IMPORTANT NOTE: Breakout EDU games are similar to escape rooms, but are NOT escape rooms because students are NEVER locked in a room. Oh, there are still plenty of locks involved, but the locks are on boxes and the students try to break IN to the box.
In our classroom, Breakout EDU is used to create ultra-engaging learning games for students. These games (called Breakouts) teach teamwork, problem solving, critical thinking, core academic subjects, and troubleshooting by presenting participants with challenges that ignite their natural drive to problem-solve.
So far, the students have thoroughly enjoyed each game we've played - and frequently ask when we're going to do another.
